Profile for stefpix
but since I bought an old Toyota for road trips within or outside the 5 boros.
Miami, Michigan, Quebec or just Red Hook and Canarsie.

Came back from a week in Jamaica. rented a bicycle and rode to the countryside to escape the tourist traps, the sex, coke, tours for sale. It was great to be on the other side. eat mangos and swim off the cliffs and find small fishing villages and sound systems on the shore.

I september I was Jacmel Haiti, spent 2 weeks there - there was no electricity for days and a lot of problems with the hurricane damage.
I wish I stayed longer. I felt I could help by documenting and sharing the voices of many people left on their own with no crops and mud to shove.
i like the ocean - clear waters - or 7ft waves. swim past the surf look at the sky and the sea blend in. Miami when the storm is approaching or Ft. Tilden in the fog or in the late afternoon sun.
Started some indoor gardening. Mangos from seeds and purple queen. Something that grows and takes me back to journeys in the tropics/subtropics.

My Ideal Person:
independent - cheerful - introspective - stimulating -
expressive - adventurous
- loyal - natural.
You can write down on paper but then what works or does not work is a matter of dynamics rather than just ingredients.
you can mix all the perfect things and get a poor result.
or get a nice surprise from humble components.
champagne and caviar are great but a very good beer and a nice roast potato sometimes can be more satisfing and fulfilling.

ultimately I am looking for someone I enjoy to share experiences, time, thought, touch and who knows what may come to it.
a balance between the physical, emotional, intellect.
who knows what may come out of that?
theories and practical life.

anyway wether long lasting or an encounter it is nice to see what is on the other side.
I have no gap to fill. that is what is nice about hitting 40 you start to realize you lost something but you also achieved.
it is less about need more about want.

  • The last great book I read
i read wikipedia a lot news history geography natural facts
i got lately - dee brown's bury my heart at wounded knee.
bertrand russell then kundera murakami dostoevsky charles
baldwin nobody knows my name news news - bbc etc photoshop
for photographers. maybe i will get the "4 hour workweek"
    at some NYPL
  • My most humbling moment
When came back from 2 weeks in Haiti, many people lost their
homes - called me "hey blanc" but no one tried
to take anything from me. they asked me money for food. I
did not have enough to give out. I took photos of their life.
took their names and numbers. I felt treated with respect.
I slept on a floor and had to go to a outhouse. I lived a week
with no electricity for days. it left a deep impression
inside. I went to the cathedral on sunday and the choir with
some soul reggae slow band - i heard that and i felt emotional
in a way i have not felt in years. sept 2008
I raised money for a pregnant woman I met on the beach down
there so she could have a C section in a decent hospital.
she named the female baby after my name. She keeps calling
once ina while. She needs more money. But I do not know what
    is best at this point
[...] giving a dollar to someone standing outside a bodega
on a freezing night. he stared at me and asked me if I thought
he looked like a homeless. [...] the green card interview.
took me 6 years to get to that point. One person in 45 minutes
could decide about my life future. permanent residence
where my life is or removal and possible ban. in the waiting
room i could see temse faces. a white haired compassionate
lawyer telling a mother and daughter from africa that their
petiotion had been denied and there was little hope and
a lot of expenses if they would file for an appeal.
  • Favorite on-screen sex scene
I never tried sex with sunscreen oil on - but now that i think
about it I think it could be fun. especially if it is that
hawaiian coconut oil whose smell i love.

I don't like to watch other men having sex. it is like
going outside a fancy restaurant and watch people eat great
    food.

There was this Leos Carax movie a few years ago Pola X and
the sex looked and was real - I appreciated that it did not
look staged and fake and that it did not look like dumb porn. but did not really care.
  • The best or worst lie I've ever told
Lies take energy and provide guilt. sometimes I would rather
be silent than give answers i am not ready for. When I was 16 I got a discounted AC Milan season pass for soccer
games by stating i was 15. the price difference was huge.
  • If I could be anywhere right now
Would go back to the Caribbean. Jamaica and Haiti.. Maybe
St Vincent. go swimming/snorkeling/ diving. Also exploring
the countryside. See how people live, grow crops and see
orchids and wildlife in the wild. Nova Scotia + Labrador. driving to Vermont and Québec. there
is a town where the border runs thru the library. been there/
saw that. would like to go back and film and photograph with my road bike - so they want have an excuse for taking
my car apart. on a roadtrip with unlimited time - camera
/ videocamera and a grant for gas and food and fun. a trip
to vietnam and cambodia - never been before. lofoten islands
in norway - with better weather conditions than when i last
was there. maybe south caribbean - low key and no starbucks and mcdonalds'.
actually i like starbucks on road trips. the coffee in the
south is just dirty water with no caffeine.
  • Five items I can't live without
    coffee camera bike Macbook curiosity
  • Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier.
    in the dark/ in sunlight. pond/ocean. park/forest. body/eyes. track bike/road bike. cut flowers/potted plant. dove/owl. blueberry/bilberry at night/in the morning. plane/roadtrip.
  • In my bedroom one will find...
radio cd alarm / some book paper / lots of light in the daytime/necessary.
orchids [Vandas , Dendrobiums, Cattleyas. more species
than hybrids] and other plants like Pinguiculas, Droseras.
a few mango plants from seeds of fruits I ate. belongins, i just got an analog 99 cent alarm clock. so refreshing
to be able to set a wake up alarm without having to push 2 3 buttons
and scroll every hour and minute as in digital alarm clocks
