I'm a born and bred New Yorker, love to travel and have traveled a good deal (especially throughout the U.S., Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean region), but after two-three weeks away find myself longing for New York City. I'm an artist (and arts administrator) who loves this city - with all its craziness - for being one of the world's great centers of the arts. I also love the ocean and am grateful that New York City is so close to it.
I'm of athletic build (I work out regularly but I'm no jock), enjoy music (listening and playing), biking, hiking, children and animals, cooking, traveling and learning about different cultures. I'm a long-time very-liberal democrat with an interest in politics, a progressive outlook, and greatly relieved by the results of the 2008 presidential election.
My Ideal Person:
A woman with similar interests, desires and beliefs. Attractive, fit, intelligent, enjoys travel, the arts, and the ocean. Adventurous, self-assured but not self-absorbed. A sweet, sensual woman with strong convictions and no hesitation in voicing them, yet with a willing heart, open to change and new ideas.(That said, if you listed "cell phone" as one of those "five items I can't live without," well ... I wish you good luck in your search.) EXTRA POINTS FOR ARTISTS, MUSICIANS AND OTHER CREATIVE TYPES.
The last great book I read "Enduring Cuba" by Zoe Bräun. Read it before my second visit to Havana, and she "got it, " right down to all the contradictions implied in the book's title. Also, Lisle Dennis' "The Traveler's Eye" a wonderfully written practical/philosophical guide to travel photography.
My most humbling moment You mean, so far? Didn't think it would be the case, but after tooling and re-tooling this "profile, " THIS may be it!
Favorite on-screen sex scene I'm sure there are some, but the real moments are what I remember best.
The celebrity I resemble the most I dunno ... SpongeBob SquarePants?
The best or worst lie I've ever told I am a lousy liar, so I try not to. I can appreciate the need, however, for the occasional "white lie." Like the fact that I'm really 55 years old (or is that more a "gray" lie?). Oh, and in keeping with full disclosure, I can't say that I "don't use drugs, " but they don't give you a "take it or leave it" option here.
If I could be anywhere right now ... I'd be driving an old VW bug down the Pacific Coast of Mexico, taking photos, meeting people and visiting old friends.
Five items I can't live without Music, the ocean, good food, my camera, and at least one of my guitars.
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Wondering is sexy; Knowing is sexier!
In my bedroom one will find... Deep-red brick walls (that I restored myself!), a few art works (some by me, some by others), candles, calm and endless time.
