Well, I am a social scientist who is obsessed with the world. I am also a pretty simple person when it comes down to it. I am a huge music fan and a constantly creating musician. While my house is in Philly I work in NYC (and have for the past 5 years) so I travel to NY 3 times a week but generally sleep in Philly every night. So I sort of have the best of both worlds and am able to hang out in Philly and New York every week. I figure if my work has me in NY several days a week I should also see about the dating pool in NY as well, and have had some meaningful relationships with folks in both Philly and NY. I am a bit of a homebody, I have no need to go and be where the beautiful people are. I am more likely to go to the art gallery on an off hour rather than the opening so that I can actually see the work and take it in. I am fit and try to take care of myself physically. I am still learning and am excited by people who can share new music, movies, books and perspectives on the world with me. Why else should you get to know me? Well, I know how to use a hammer and saw, I will cook for you with food from my garden, and I am a pretty decent and interesting guy.
My Ideal Person:
Someone who is passionate and creative in their interests is really what it comes down to. Someone who wants to check out some bands, and cook some good food. Someone who can kick it in jeans and one of my old band T’s but also cleans up well and can make me drool with a nice low cut dress. I am an eclectic person so I appreciate eclectic but grounded people. People who with broad interests are most interesting to me and are able to be eclectic without being pretentious and insecure is always nice. Someone who is real and reflective. Someone who appreciates others cultures while not needing to consume them. Somebody who realizes the whole world does not revolve around them and cares enough about the world to try and be a positive contributor to it. Somebody who is not looking for a “fabulous” existence, but rather just wants to kick it, and check out some interesting things, interesting places and interesting people. Maybe someone a little Hip-Hop, a little RocknRoll, a little Chelsea Girl, a little bookworm. I could go on about what I like (curves are good) but I also like to be surprised and am open for whatever and whoever.
Feel free to Flirt or Hotlist me and we’ll see what happens.
The last great book I read I don’t know if they were great, good…Under the Banner of Heaven and a Brief History of Neoliberalism. I like taking in information so I also read a lot of magazines which lead me to good books. I read a couple of papers everyday and I also read mags like the Economist, Atlantic Monthly, Scientific American, and Readymade
My most humbling moment Lots of things are humbling...seeing a band that is better than any band I have ever been in...standing on the beach during a hurricane...seeing victoria falls...speaking with someone wise and still humble
Favorite on-screen sex scene anything with Sarita Choudhury in it. Y Tu Mama Tambien, the woman Dancing in the Believers
The celebrity I resemble the most People tell me I resemble different actors a lot but I think they are referring to the personality of the characters rather than their looks. But I look like a cross between my mom and dad and they are celebrities in my eyes.
The best or worst lie I've ever told That I liked the sweater vest my brother gave me for Xmas
If I could be anywhere right now I like where I am but I wouldnt mind being in Canada canoeing, or at a Bad Brains show circa 1986
Five items I can't live without My family and friends Instruments Music My Books My ideas and dreams
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Enjoying music art and books is sexy; is sexy; a humble woman who makes these things is sexier!
In my bedroom one will find... Ive got my bed, clothes, books, TV, some plants, instruments...nothing too exciting, except for me.
